Do You Know? #108 (今日のフレーズ)

Have you noticed how really depressing news is lately? It seems that there is absolutely nothing good happening. Is it time to go hide on some deserted island? Lets see if I have this straight. North Korea is going to attack someone, somewhere, at sometime; possibly starting WW III. Global warming is going to make the seas rise to where we can't live anymore. There is not going to be enough food soon to feed the world's population. Oil will be gone soon, leaving the world without a replacement energy source. The world economy is going to crash. Terrorists are taking over the world. Well, looks like there is only one thing to do. LETS PARTY!

Do You Know? #107 (今日のフレーズ)

Hi! I'm so sorry for not posting lately. I have been very busy. Doing what you say? Well, I have been doing this and doing that, running here and running there, and I have succeeded. In doing nothing! LOL. I think I need a break. Just get away from everything for a couple of days and forget about everything. Yes, that is what I am going to do. At the end of the month, I am going to go to a place that starts with the letter "N" for a few days. I can't wait. Maybe, when I get back, I'll be my usual efficient and professional self again.

Do You Know? #106 (今日のフレーズ)

Hi! Today is April 1st, April Fool's Day(or All Fool's Day). April Fool's Day is the one day of the year when it is normal to play practical jokes and pranks on your friends, neighbors, and family. On this day it is not a good idea to take seriously anything that you are told by your friends. A good prankster can keep a completely straight face as he tells you the most outrageous lies. Luckily, the lies are normally followed by a loud "April Fool's!". Although this day is not so popular in Japan, you should still be careful about what you hear today.

Do You Know? #105 (今日のフレーズ)

Well, the spring scramble has started. LOL. This is the time of year when suddenly everyone moves to a different place. I remember one school that I worked at. When I went to the school at the beginning of the new school year I found that the principal, vice principal, and the head teacher were transferred and their replacements were busily getting settled in. I didn't understand why all this moving from one school to another was necessary. One day, a few weeks later, during a sudden storm the lights went off in the building. I finished class and went back to the teacher's office but the lights were still off. An hour later, it was time to go home, still no lights. So, as I prepared to leave I talked to the vice principal and found out that they were searching for the circuit breakers but couldn't find them and no one knew where they were. I said follow me and showed them the circuit breakers, all the time amazed at the efficiency of moving people around all the time so no one knew what was going on or where anything was.
